- Our Friends Club offers children with ASD a safe, and nurturing environment to develop play skills, social skills, and friendships with peers.
- Friends Club Facilitators are trained to teach social, play, and communication skills through playtime activities, group games, discussions, stories, and role-play activities.
- Each Friends Club includes up to six children with ASD, matched by age and abilities.
- Our current Friends Club is for children who are 7-10 years old.
- Each participant is welcome to bring a friend from school or the neighborhood.
- Neurotypical peer role models participate in Friends Club, engaging their friends with autism in play and conversation.
- Participants meet one time per week (Tuesdays) at our Walnut Creek office for 1.5 hours (3:30-5:00).
- This program is vendorized by the Regional Center of the East Bay for six months of participation.
